Paul gives us guidelines on what we should fix our thoughts upon. They are a benchmark for our mind. Just as we are told to guard our hearts in Proverbs 4:23, so too are we given instructions about our thoughts and mind. In Romans 12:2 we read “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” and in Ephesians 4:23 we are told to be renewed in our minds. Clearly God wants us to fix our thoughts on Him the Author and Finisher, to be rejoicing, thankful and praying always (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) and we cannot meet this task of transforming our minds without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. As we start this new week I pray that Holy Spirit will equip you to transform your minds and that you would think on things that are lovely, honourable, pure and right. May the peace of Jesus guard your thoughts. In Jesus name Amen.
